Job Details
To install, maintain, programme, and demonstrate Community Alarm and Telecare devices for vulnerable service users within Service Health & Social Care in their own homes, throughout Fife. You will work as a Mobile Assistant within the Home Care Associated Services Team, which is part of Fife Health and Social Care Partnership. The role will include:
1. Installing and maintaining Community Alarm Units/Telecare equipment.
2. Demonstrating equipment to Service Users and their Carers.
3. Assessing the need for electrical and telecommunication service/alterations and making arrangements including use of specialist contractors.
4. Conducting test calls on all fitted equipment.
5. Attending to faulty equipment/repair/replace.
6. Conducting a technical assessment of faulty units.
7. Uplifting equipment from location when no longer deemed suitable/required.
8. Issuing equipment from stock.
9. Updating and recording on IT system.
10. Trialling new equipment.
11. Providing on duty office cover to deal with telephone/email queries.
The Person
You are required to have a current driving licence (you will drive Council vehicles). Previous experience of working in a Care environment. Knowledge of Community Alarm/Telecare equipment. Knowledge/experience of Health and Social Care Partnership agencies. Basic IT skills (embrace technology & information). You should be able to undertake physical tasks. Knowledge of equipment/electrics/telecommunication systems.
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
