WHAT TO EXPECT
We are looking for a Lead Controls Diagnostic Engineer to join our Powertrain department and support the development of JLR's highly integrated charging and battery management systems. You will have a chance to design, integrate, and validate our in-house charging system software for our current and next generation of electrified vehicles.
As an Application Lead Controls Engineer, you will lead the diagnostic design and delivery of our control algorithms and in-house software in the creation of our BMCM (Battery Management Control Module) to support JLR's exciting future product lineup.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
1. Lead the development and delivery of diagnostic specifications and functionality throughout the whole product development lifecycle in collaboration with our system, hardware, and controls engineers.
2. Ensure all legislative diagnostic requirements and standards are met throughout the product development lifecycle.
3. Develop diagnostic documentation including Part 1, Part 2, and End of Line (EOL) test specifications.
4. Deliver verified diagnostic monitors in line with new software and hardware product changes.
5. Create and run feature test cases at the vehicle level for the charging and control systems, as well as SiL, HiL, PiL, and MiL systems.
6. Develop software requirements and raise knowledge of MISRA C and Embedded Coder for the creation of production code, requiring cross-functional and cross-team collaboration.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
1. Systems Engineering experience including an understanding of Model-based systems engineering (MBSE) with MATLAB and Simulink.
2. Experience in diagnostics, tools, and methods.
3. Experience with automotive communication protocols and hardware (Flexray, CAN, CAN-FD, LIN).
4. Experience delivering embedded software in a real-time control environment.
5. Strong systems thinking and analytical skills.
