Deputy Manager- Call on Me Ltd
Call On Me is a care provider here on the Isle of Wight. We pride ourselves in providing care and support to individuals in their own homes and within supported living provisions.
We are currently recruiting a deputy manager to join our team whereby they will maintain and develop our services. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering the highest quality of services or be someone with some management experience ready to step up to the next level.
Accountable to the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the safe delivery of care to service users and the growth and development of the business through marketing and recruitment.
Strong staff management skills are essential, as is knowledge of care principles and regulations, skills in assessment and care planning, and the ability to build working relations with health professionals, local authorities, and the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The role will include the following:
1. Assisting the Registered Manager with Regulatory Compliance
2. Overseeing the day-to-day smooth running of the office
3. Ensuring that all points of service delivery are implemented to high standards
4. Managing a team of staff, ensuring that duties are completed and providing leadership
5. Liaising with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders
6. Overseeing recruitment and forecasting demands on training and staffing levels
7. Conducting staff appraisals and supervisions
8. Representing the company during meetings with officials and service commissioners
9. Attending training events and ensuring that skills and knowledge of industry best practice are kept up to date
10. Updating policies and procedures
11. Ensuring that our service complies with CQC requirements
12. Ensuring that the highest standards of care are always maintained

Essential Skills and Experience
* NVQ 3 in health and social care or equivalent, or be working towards and be able to demonstrate competency in effective leadership
* Relevant qualification in learning disabilities/mental health
* Evidence of ongoing CPD to keep up to date with latest research and good practice guidance
* Minimum 2 years’ management experience within a care setting or similar service
* Experience of providing person-centred care and care planning
* Staff management experience
* Experience of successful change implementation
* Experience of auditing standards and maintaining quality assurance systems
Job-related skills and knowledge (these should be demonstrable)
* Understanding of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014, the Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009, the Care Act (2014) and CQC guidance and regulation
* Understanding of leadership and staff motivation
* Ability to prioritise work in an environment which may have conflicting pressures and demands
* Evidence of effective staff rota management
* Proficient in use of IT – Microsoft Word and Outlook
Working Hours
Availability needs to ideally be full-time; compressed hours will be considered. On-call rotation will be required within the role.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Permanent
Salary: £31,380.00 per year
