Stantec is a leading multi-disciplinary engineering and design consultancy. Our Environmental Consulting Community of Practice works closely with our clients to develop innovative, sustainable, and efficient solutions to meet their needs. We have built our reputation over decades of success and take pride in turning legacy land contamination challenges into development opportunities.
We are seeking a Geo-environmental Consultant to join our established team based in Reading. You will work within our ground engineering team, contributing to broader multi-disciplinary projects as part of our regional development capability and being part of a national community of ground engineering professionals.
Our team provides contaminated land and geotechnical and geohazard consultancy services to the land development and infrastructure sectors. We work holistically across these disciplines to provide value-driven solutions. We support local and national projects, delivering investigation, assessment, remediation and redevelopment of brownfield land. We work with private and public sector clients across land development, infrastructure and energy projects.
We require an ambitious team player with experience working within the Geoenvironmental sector to contribute to the delivery of projects, ensuring technical quality and adherence to budget and programme. The position requires you to interact with other members of multi-disciplinary teams, clients, sub-contractors and fellow professionals. The role will include both field and office-based work.
We are proud of Stantec's friendly, inclusive, and collaborative culture, and we have many other reasons for you to be excited about joining us. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, agile and flexible working arrangements, industry-leading training, great projects, and lots more!
About You
We're seeking an experienced early career consultant to join our team. You'll possess a relevant degree in science or engineering (geology, hydrogeology, etc.) and ideally hold a further postgraduate qualification. Postgraduate experience in a similar Geoenvironmental role is required.
Your expertise lies in designing, managing, and supervising ground investigations. You'll excel at collecting accurate site data, analysing soil, water, and gas data, and preparing reports like Preliminary Risk Assessments, Factual Reports and Interpretative Reports (including GQRA).
Experience across associated technical areas like geohazards, geotechnics, earthworks, and hydrogeology is ideal, but your focus will be primarily Geoenvironmental. You will hold an understanding of relevant codes of practice, industry standards, environmental regulations, and health and safety protocols and be comfortable with travel within the UK. A full UK driving license is also required. If you're a qualified and experienced Ground Engineering Consultant ready to contribute to impactful projects, we encourage you to apply.
