Prominent Build & General Construction main contractor seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Project Quantity Surveyor to join their site commercial teams in a permanent position for their new-build residential projects across central Manchester.
About the role of Quantity Surveyor
As the Quantity Surveyor, you will be joining the business at an exciting time! Live currently, there are several major new build residential and general construction projects across central Manchester, each valued between £50m - £200m.
You will join the Manchester city centre sites based commercial team, where you will be involved in the commercial management of multiple packages across several large new build projects and also managing the full scope of packages on other projects.
And upcoming over the next 6-12 months will be the commencement of another £320 million worth of projects across the region. These projects include, but are not limited to, new build residential blocks, new build residential towers/high rise residential, Conversions, Alterations, Refurbishments, and more!
Responsibilities for the Quantity Surveyor
Preparation of bills and/or schedules for quantities of materials, labour and services required in the construction and refurbishment of building works in relation to both Estimating and Post contract duties.
Preparation and valuation of progress and submission to client.
Sub-contract procurement including sending out enquiries, collating prices, negotiation, order placement
Sub-contract valuations and payments in connection with any contract.
Preparation of internal cost reporting measures.
Maintaining quality control procedures.
Health & Safety management.
Undertaking all tasks in a timely fashion and as required by management.
Ensure cash flow is maximised.
Requirements for the Quantity Surveyor
Essential
Minimum 4 years previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor
Experience working on main contractor side on a new build projects
Experience commercially managing all/majority of packages on a new Build project
Including, Pricing & forecasting, Procurement (materials, plant, labour), and Subcontractor managementPreferable
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management
Main contracting experience on new build high-rise residential projects
Salary we offer for the Quantity Surveyor
£50,000 p/a - £60,000 p/a salary (negotiable to experience)
