About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join MadeForMums at a pivotal moment in our evolution into a truly multi-platform brand. With a brand refresh launching soon and an enhanced focus on supporting parents – from bumps to big kids – we’re looking for a Digital Journalist to help shape and deliver engaging content that resonates with our growing audience.
This part-time role (3 days per week) is based in our London office every Tuesday, with the remaining days worked remotely. Mondays and Tuesdays are fixed, with flexibility for the third day to suit the successful candidate. If you’re organised, creative, and passionate about helping parents make confident choices, we’d love to hear from you!
As a Digital Journalist you will:
Content Creation (Site Performance):
1. Write, edit, and optimise high-performing parenting and lifestyle articles, ensuring they meet SEO best practices and align with our editorial tone and brand values.
2. Update and repurpose existing content based on performance data to drive traffic and engagement.
3. Support the creation of user-intent-driven content such as shopping guides, reviews, and engaging "coffee break" pieces (e.g., horoscopes, puzzles, advice columns).
Apple News Content Support:
1. Adapt content for Apple News formats to maximise engagement and reach.
2. Collaborate with the team to identify trending topics and create content tailored for Apple News audiences.
Planet Focus:
1. Contribute to sustainability-focused content initiatives, including creating articles on eco-friendly parenting tips, product recommendations, and recycling guides.
2. Collaborate with the team to embed sustainability themes into high-performing commerce content and parenting features.
General Content Support:
1. Use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Trends) to monitor content performance and make data-driven updates.
2. Work closely with the Digital Growth Lead and Content team to ensure content meets overall traffic and engagement targets.
3. Occasionally support video and visual content creation for social and web channels.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt to brand voice and tone.
2. Basic understanding of SEO and digital content best practices.
3. Familiarity with content management systems (WordPress experience is a plus).
4. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
5. Interest in parenting, lifestyle, or sustainability content.
6. Experience with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and/or basic video editing is a bonus.
Desirable:
1. You’re highly organised and adaptable, with an eye for detail and a passion for creating engaging digital content.
2. You thrive in a collaborative team environment but are confident managing your own workload.
3. You’re eager to learn and grow, bringing energy and creativity to everything you do.
4. Experience in parenting would be helpful, but it’s not essential: what matters more is a desire to develop a deep understanding of our audience and how to meet their needs.
Benefits:
* A relaxed working environment with regular socials including a summer festival.
* Immediate Community webinars, well-being initiatives and Mental Health First aiders.
* 25 days holiday plus a day for your birthday. Our offices will be closed between Christmas and New Year’s which are in addition to your annual entitlement.
* Tailored training and development through our Love Learning platform.
* A progressive and transparent culture with clear career progression.
* Flexible / hybrid working plus early finish Fridays.
* Cycle to work scheme.
* Enhanced Family Policies including paternity, adoption and surrogacy leave. We also provide a pregnancy loss, fertility, and carers policy.
* Competitive pension plans and Life Assurance.
* A newly renovated modern office with lots of collaborative spaces.
