An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our Neuro-Oncology Team at South Tees Foundation Trust.
The post holder will be expected to have experience managing patients with neurological conditions and relevant postgraduate study, ideally at Masters level. They will be required to demonstrate advanced specialist skills and knowledge in the assessment and treatment of patients with neurological conditions.
The Occupational Therapy Service is a well-established, large, progressive, and dynamic service, which continues to develop within the Trust. The team is friendly and supportive, and mentorship for this role will be available from other clinicians, the AHP Service Lead, and from the Head of Occupational Therapy.
This post offers development in clinical and leadership skills, and the post holder will be supported to attend relevant postgraduate courses. We have an established and comprehensive training programme, and our staff are encouraged and supported in their CPD through workshops, clinical supervision, and the appraisal process. There is also an expectation to actively participate in audit and research.
Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will be part of a specialist multidisciplinary team involved in the care of patients with neuro-oncology conditions and will be employed as a Senior Specialist to lead in the provision and development of occupational therapy services for patients with neuro-oncology conditions, providing clinical expertise at a local and regional level.
The post holder will provide clinical assessment and support with the rehabilitation both acutely and in the community of neuro-oncology patients. They will lead clinical developments and research opportunities to proactively move neuro-oncology rehabilitation services forward to the benefit of patients and staff within the Trust and at a regional network level.
