In this Sales Account Manager position, you'll use your B2B sales, account management, excellent customer service and communication skills to deliver performance in line with objectives of the department and financial targets set each month. You will be joining a strong sales team who specialise in selling cable and cable accessories into the OEM market.
You will be given full product and technical training (if required), and we'll support you to learn and develop your knowledge of products across the group. We’ll give you the confidence to provide customers with key account management service and consultative technical sales. In return, we ask for your enthusiasm to learn and immerse yourself in our industry and the products we provide across the Shoal Group.
The key measurement of success in this role will be your ability to hit and exceed the sales target each month, growing key accounts, bringing on new business, and exceeding expectations in the service and support you provide to our customers.
Main Duties
1. Identify opportunities with new and existing customers within the OEM market, target these prospects with a clear and detailed plan enabling you to build long term profitable sales, develop relationships and recommend solutions.
2. Build relationships with new and existing customers to establish yourself as their key account manager and grow these accounts where opportunities are identified.
3. Respond to incoming email and phone enquiries ensuring customers are quoted and orders are processed by the Sales Support Team.
4. Create a daily outbound call plan ensuring you have a clear pro-active approach.
5. Listen to customer requirements creating detailed proposal documents and present appropriately to ‘make the sale’.
6. Where required, provide support to the wider team in quoting customers from other teams.
7. Challenge any objections to convert your quotes.
8. Actively look for ways to grow business by immersing yourself in the industry and working closely with the sales leadership team on new ideas and prospects.
9. Advise customers on forthcoming product developments and discuss special promotions.
10. Maintain clear and up to date customer records on the company CRM.
11. Represent the company at trade exhibitions, events etc. as and when required.
12. Remain motivated at all times, manage your workload in a progressive and proactive way to achieve your KPIs.
13. Follow Companies Quality Management and Health & Safety guidelines.
14. Other reasonable tasks as requested by the Senior Management team.
What would make you a good candidate for this role?
1. Previous internal sales experience (minimum 2+ years’ experience).
2. Experience in selling electrical accessories or cables.
3. Experience selling into the OEM sector will be highly desirable.
4. Strong B2B sales experience, ideally consultative and/or technical.
5. Account management and business development experience is essential.
6. Strong communicator both verbally and in written form at all levels.
7. Ability to develop and maintain effective, positive working relationships with int/ext professionals.
8. Enjoys working to sales targets and goals, always striving to overachieve.
9. Good all-round IT skills and previous experience using a CRM system.
10. Must be team player with ‘can do, will do’ positive attitude, determination, and confidence.
11. Resilience and ability to cope with rejection.
12. Ability to prioritise work and adapt positively to changing priorities.
13. Able to work on own initiative.
14. Formal sales qualifications will support any application.
