Job description
Medical Defence Shield (MDS) is a representative body for Professionals, including Doctors and Dentists, which offers medical defence protection. We have an in-house legal team and specialist advisors that offers professional support and assistance for members with employment, regulatory and clinical negligence matters.
Due to the ongoing success of the business, we are looking to expand our team with the addition of a Case Manager. As part of this role, you will be working closely with the in-house legal and advisory teams and will be required to support as necessary.
Main purpose of job:
To provide administrative support to the legal and advisory teams, and MDS office.
Main Duties:
* Acting as the first point of contact for members and non-members seeking advice via the MDS email and telephone advice line.
* Providing an accurate summary of the client’s queries and allocate matters appropriately and efficiently to the legal and advisory team.
* Responsibility for the management of the Case Manager email account
* Handle communication with clients and third parties.
* Assist with the legal team task list, noting important dates, deadlines and actions
* Maintaining filing systems, including opening/closing and archiving and filing a hard copy and electronic documentation.
* General file management and assisting with file management paperwork
* Collating statistical feedback and reports on the work of the legal team and client feedback
* Contributing to the legal and advisory team weekly Case Conferences.
* Provide administrative support to the legal team
* Updating calendars on a daily basis
* Organising and preparing for meetings/calls and taking meeting minutes
* General administrative duties including printing, copying, and scanning
* Collating event and training information
Skills and Qualifications:
* Previous experience in similar roles
* Excellent organisational skills
* Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook skills
* Graduate
* High attention to detail
* Excellent telephone manner
* Good written and oral communication skills and ability to explain complex issues in simple terms.
* Ability to prioritise and multi-task workload within a fast-paced setting.
* Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
* Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task
* Good common sense with a willingness to manage cases and assume responsibility
* Fast learner
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From £23,500.00 per year
