Based within the Land and Mineral Resources (LMR) department, this position provides support to the Principal Landscape Architect as well as the rest of the LMR department and other colleagues in the business including Operations e.g. Aggregates, Asphalt, Cement, and Concrete.
The LMR department itself provides expertise and services in the following functions:
1. landscape planning, design, habitat management, and restoration.
2. lands (estates) and planning.
3. geology, to include geotechnical, hydrology, and hydrogeology.
4. land survey and drawing office.
Responsibilities include:
1. Implement approved planning consents to ensure cost-effective and biodiverse land reclamation.
2. Ensure the business has available permitted mineral reserves.
3. Implement sustainability and biodiversity strategies in compliance with all necessary statutory and contractual requirements.
4. Effectively manage all land, property, reserves/resources, and assets.
5. Gain experience across Heidelberg Materials LMR functions, developing operational, commercial, project management, and leadership skills.
6. Assist and support the Principal Landscape Architect in providing landscape design and habitat management services.
7. Liaise with operational management and provide advice on landscape management and restoration issues.
8. Ensure cost-effective landscape management, restoration, and aftercare proposals.
9. Maintain up-to-date cost estimates for restoration and aftercare schemes.
10. Advise on restoration proposals including preparation of contract specifications and drawings.
11. Assist with landscape input into development proposals including planning applications and habitat management plans.
12. Provide advice on ecological and habitat matters including protection for protected species.
13. Instruct and manage external contractors and consultants.
14. Provide high-quality draughting services using AutoCAD and other industry-standard software.
15. Implement agreed corporate systems, procedures, and reporting.

Entry requirements:
You must have graduated in 2024 or be graduating in 2025 and expected to achieve a 2:1 in Landscape Architecture or other relevant Landscape or Environmental Science degrees. British citizenship or UK settled status is required.
