CNC Machinist Westbury Permanent Salary dependent on experience Monday – Thursday – 8.00am - 4.45pm and Friday – 8.00am – 1.00pm We are currently recruiting for a CNC Machinist to join our client based in Westbury. KEY TASKS: Ensure parts are manufactured in line with production plan and quality policy. Ensure 5S and TPM standards are maintained. Program / set / operate equipment such as Bridgeport work centre and mills / Takisawa lathes / Charmilles wire erosion equipment / power presses. Set and operate a wide range of other machinery from centre lathes, drills, spinning lathes, CNC lates, centreless grinding etc. Manufacture suitable tooling / jigging to allow maximum efficiency for large production runs. To set and operate the spitfire lapping machines to achieve customer drawing specification and / or work order operation routing detailed requirements for flatness / thickness / parallelism and surface roughness. To set and operate the de-burring / polishing and drying machines and equipment, to achieve the customer drawing specifications and/or work order routing detailed requirements for component finishes. Set and operate ancillary measuring equipment such as talysurfs and micrometres for testing components, for conformity to requirements throughout the procedures stated in 1 and 2 above. Be able to use and maintain the lapping machines reclaiming system to support the lapping operations. Manufacture, regrinding and repairs of press tooling Centreless grinding as and when required To assist in tooling and tip requirements planning and stock control. Book all hours that are productive and non-productive to the SAP work order system. ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Capability to understand and use proprietary controls for equipment such as the wire erosion. Operate design software such as Delcam and design software programming. Experience of machining refractory metals. To read and interpret design / customer drawings. GENERAL STANDARDS: Advise the section supervisor on a regular basis for requirements of lapping carriers / silicon carbide grit / lapping oil and lapping plates etc, against stock levels versus requirements. To carry out all tasks with regard to HES and QA requirements that are relevant to the procedures and / or within the section. To take part in new employee training as and when requested. To report any / all maintenance or HES concerns to your immediate supervision.
