Are you a skilled Quantity Surveyor with strong experience within the civil engineering sector? I have an exciting opportunity for you to join a specialist civils and utilities commercial team working on the construction of a brand-new laser facility in Didcot.
The redevelopment of the Central Laser Facility (CLF) will significantly enhance its research capabilities. This state-of-the-art facility will house the new Vulcan 20-20 laser, the most powerful laser in the world. This revolutionary laser will aid scientists in groundbreaking research areas including nuclear fusion, plasma understanding, new renewable energy sources, and the study of electromagnetic fields.
My client is a specialist contractor responsible for £30 million worth of infrastructure works on the laser facility, including access roads to the site, drainage, earthworks, curbing, and utilities. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and application of company and project-specific commercial systems and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, improving margins, conducting risk assessments, pricing changes, monitoring costs, managing supply chain procurement, and overseeing insurances and guarantees.
What you need:
3 to 5 years of demonstrable experience within the civils and utilities sector
A degree in Quantity Surveying
strong understanding of NEC forms of contracts (Essential)
