Graphic Designer - Cambridge, UK
The Opportunity
Cycle Pharmaceuticals based in Cambridge are seeking a Graphic Designer. This position will be an integral part of the studio team within Marketing producing new material, website content, and marketing collateral. This role will help maximize the profitability of our new product launches and existing products, by developing and implementing a wide range of creative projects.
Job Interactions & Interface:
This role interacts internally with key areas such as Regulatory, Compliance and the Regional Sales Teams (US and UK based). Externally this position interacts with local or regional distributors, HCPs, Patient Groups, communication and market access agencies.
Key Responsibilities
General Responsibilities:
* Produce tactical marketing materials for product brands, at different points across the product lifecycle, which are on brief and in line with Cycle’s product strategy in the US market, and wider global market as required.
* Produce tactical marketing materials for corporate brand which are on brief and in line with the company’s vision and values.
* Responsible for ensuring corporate and product brands are represented in accordance with brand guidelines across all designed materials.
* Partner with and follow the guidance from Compliance, Regulatory and the wider Cycle team to ensure that materials and programs are compliant and produced in accordance with all US/ROW rules and regulations.
* Prepare and maintain product packaging artworks such as bottle labels and cartons, including print ready artwork, with exceptionally high attention to detail and following guidance of the Labelling experts.
* Design logos and create the branding messages for marketing projects and campaigns.
* Effective communication within the organization to ensure projects are delivered according to plan and to time.
* Responsible for all design file organization and file management.
* Externally this position may from time to time also interact with Cycle’s marketing and communications agencies, printers, contract packing manufacturers, event organizers and other suppliers.
Qualifications and Skills
Key Qualifications:
* Degree level or equivalent qualification in a design-based subject.
* Highly creative portfolio of design work.
* Exceptional design software skills in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe Premier Pro and ability to work with these programs independently.
* Skilled in design within Microsoft Office packages such as PowerPoint.
* Strong experience with tactical execution (print and digital) and page layout including brochures, sales aids, flyers, social media, infographics, illustrations, event materials, video, and animation.
* Experience preparing content for and working with multiple social media platforms, i.e. LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram.
* Experience and understanding of artworking print files.
* Ability to understand and then translate technical concepts into designed elements.
Skills:
* Proactive individual who can contribute innovative ideas and has a creative, problem-solving mindset, either independently or collaboratively.
* Strong ability to translate brand guidelines into tactical materials across the whole marketing mix; including video and animation.
* Comfortable with data-centric page layout such as diagrams, graphs and charts, and can approach related challenges logically to deliver aesthetically pleasing outcomes.
* Able to present your ideas and designs confidentially to internal stakeholders and provide rationale for your choices.
* Proven ability to handle multiple tasks at once, with good project management skills and exceptional attention to detail.
* Able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced constantly evolving environment, delivering projects to deadlines and a high professional quality.
Desirable experience and skills:
* 2+ years of design experience in commercial/industry setting.
* Strong interest in applying design solutions to the pharmaceutical industry.
* Experience in brand development including concept development and logo creation.
* Experience working with other software in the Adobe Creative Suite.
* Experience in website design; UX, animation, and video creation.
* Experience working in other languages and the design challenges this can bring.
