Regulatory/Compliance Lawyer Opportunity A leading FTSE 100 real estate development group is seeking an experienced Regulatory/Compliance Lawyer to oversee and enhance its compliance function across the organization. The Role As the Regulatory/Compliance Lawyer, you will take ownership of compliance and regulatory issues across the group and its subsidiaries. You will establish and manage procedures, advise on compliance matters, draft key policies, and ensure regulatory obligations are met. Key Responsibilities: Build and maintain the compliance function to oversee and advise on regulatory matters. Establish and implement monitoring procedures to improve compliance across the Group. Draft policies, procedures, and training documents to communicate regulatory requirements effectively. Provide advice and training to internal teams and external consultants on compliance. Advise on the impact of new regulations and legislation, ensuring the Group remains proactive and compliant. Manage and assist with internal investigations into compliance issues. Oversee and respond to compliance-related audits, assessments, and regulatory requests. Participate in Group compliance meetings, including the Modern Slavery Working Group and quarterly compliance reviews. Oversee the production of the Group’s annual Modern Slavery Statement. Respond to data protection requests such as data subject access requests. Areas of Focus: GDPR and data protection Anti-bribery and corruption Anti-money laundering Modern slavery Anti-facilitation of tax evasion Sanctions Prevention of fraud What You Need Ideally 5 years PQE in a regulatory or compliance-focused legal role. Strong drafting skills and meticulous attention to detail. Strategic legal thinking and commercial awareness. Excellent project management skills with a proactive, motivated approach. Demonstrable expertise in areas such as GDPR, anti-bribery, and modern slavery compliance. Why Join?
