Vanrath are recruiting for a Committee Administrator on behalf of a large public sector body in Ballymena on a temporary basis.

The main purpose of the job is to provide an administrative function and support in Committee meetings.
The Committee Administrator will work as part of a team within the Policy, Research and External Affairs Department. This department comes within the remit of the Chief Executive's Office. A key requirement of this department is to provide a high level of service to the Chief Executive and Elected Members. The post holder will require a high degree of flexibility to respond to organisational and departmental requirements across the full range of functions.
What you'll do
4. Provide a professional and comprehensive Committee Administrative service to Committee meetings, workshops and any other meetings organised to deliver business as required.
5. Work with the Committee Administration Manager and the Senior Committee Administrator in respect of all meetings to assist with preparation and successful delivery. This will include organising the scheduling and planning of meetings.
6. Assist with the maintenance of effective record management systems including retention and disposal in accordance with agreed policy.
7. Promote best practice and contribute to achievement of the Corporate Plan.
8. Contribute where necessary to ensuring the company complies with all relevant legislation and implements its statutory obligations in an effective and efficient manner.
9. Adhere to and comply with all policies and procedures relevant to this role, including arrangements for risk management.
10. Participate in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of the Department Business Plan and relevant Service Plans responding to changing trends and citizen needs.
11. Achieve high standards of personal performance, through meeting agreed personal targets and undertaking planned programmes of professional development.
About you
A minimum of 5 GCSEs to include English Language and Maths (Grade A-C)
AND
Be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, two years' administrative experience, to include:
12. Servicing of Committees, including minute taking.
13. Working knowledge of computer packages, including spreadsheets, databases and word processing
Alternatively consideration may be given to candidates who do not possess the required educational qualifications but who can demonstrate 4 years' administrative experience, to include:
