An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join a leading Investment Bank as a Front Office Trading Assistant, playing a pivotal role in the execution of derivative transactions. This role offers direct exposure to traders, sales, and structuring teams, working across a range of asset classes including rates, equity and credit derivatives.
Sitting on the trading desk, this position provides essential trade oversight, ensuring accuracy and control in a fast-paced environment. Acting as a key partner to the trading desk, you will be responsible for T0 trade booking, real-time validation of trades, ensuring seamless execution and lifecycle management. This role demands a strong understanding of market infrastructure, trade pricing mechanics, and risk considerations.
You will work in close collaboration with traders, actively contributing to new product developments and optimising front-office workflows. A strong foundation in derivatives and an appreciation of pricing methodologies, risk metrics (including the Greeks), and structured payoffs are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work alongside traders to ensure accurate and timely booking of trades, reconciling key trade attributes across multiple systems
* Act as a key liaison between Trading, Sales, Structuring, Risk, and Technology teams, ensuring smooth trade lifecycle management
* Provide real-time trade oversight, conducting T0 validations, risk analysis, and monitoring key lifecycle events including fixings, expiries, and corporate actions
* Ensure accurate front-to-back trade representation, identifying and resolving discrepancies swiftly
* Collaborate on new product rollouts and front-office system enhancements, helping to refine the trade support function
* Maintain a robust control environment, identifying inefficiencies and driving process enhancements
* Participate in strategic initiatives to improve trade execution, risk reporting, and system automation
Key Requirements:
* Experience as a Traders Assistant or Desk Assistant, or experience within Market Risk or Product Control with exposure to multi-asset derivative products
* Deep understanding of flow and structured derivatives across multiple asset classes
* Strong knowledge of pricing mechanics, risk sensitivities, and trade lifecycle management
* Familiarity with front-office trading systems and execution platforms such as MarkitWire, Bloomberg, TradeWeb, and ICE Link
* Appreciation of trading risk, P&L attribution, and regulatory requirements across major jurisdictions
* Proficiency in trade booking methodologies, trade event processing, and controls
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to problem-solve in a fast-moving environment
