About the role
Our Incident Support Unit (ISU) Operatives - Level 0 play an integral role in keeping the M25 Motorway network running efficiently and safely. This role is based out of our Leatherhead, Kent depot and involves undertaking a wide range of incident response, hazard clearance, network maintenance and other tasks as required.
Working arrangements Maintenance (shift work, need for travel etc)
* Expected to work the shift pattern (days, nights, weekend and bank holidays) to meet operational requirements.
* Shift pattern is 4 shifts on, 4 shifts off, to include weekends and bank holidays.
* Reasonable level of travel around M25 network and between depots.
* Travel to meetings, training and works sites outside normal operational area.
* Expected to participate in out of hours call out rotas e.g. Winter Maintenance.
What you'll be doing
Undertake activities, as instructed, with capabilities to ensure that your area of
responsibility is maintained. This will include but not exclusive to:
o cyclical maintenance
o graffiti removal
o carriageway repairs,
o soft estate maintenance (e.g. grassland maintenance)
o litter picking,
o sign maintenance,
o cleansing
o safety fence repairs
o boundary fence repairs
o Any other duties allocated by Line Managers.
* Implement Traffic Management in line with CPS policies, method statements, risk assessments and industry standards.
* Good written and verbal communication.
* Undertake routine vehicle checks and maintain accurate and up to date driving records in line with legislation in accordance with CPS procedures and legislation.
* Taking due care of any CPS property including but not limited to tablets, vehicles and radios.
* Raise awareness of issues which may affect the safe operation of the network and report these as observed.
* Responsible for checking your equipment & tools for relevant tasks. Reporting faults or defects.
* Participate in Winter Service rota as required.
* Attend training courses as required & maintain qualifications / competencies.

* Support the delivery of CPSUK’s Sustainability activities

* UK Driving Licence
* CSCS Operative Card
Qualifications (Desirable / Achievable within 6months)
* Strimmer / Hedge Trimmer
* Banksman / Manual Handling
* NHSS12A/B 1 Day qualification – TTMBC
* 12AB Impact Protection Vehicle Courses (IPV)
* 12AB For Static Temporary Traffic Management on High-Speed Roads and All Purpose Trunk Road (APTR) network
* ROLO Sector Scheme 18
* Emergency First Aid – 1 day
* Plant/small tools training.
* Disk cutter / Abrasive wheel.
* PPI
Experience
• Working on a live motorway or All-Purpose Trunk Road (APTR) network
• Experience of working in a similar traffic / transport / highways
