The Gatsby Foundation is looking for a Project Officer to play an integral part in its programmes to support technical education teaching.
* Location: Manchester (with some hybrid working)
* Salary: £47,816 - £51,718 + pension and benefits
Who we are
The Gatsby Charitable Foundation was established in 1967 by David Sainsbury, who has since contributed over £1 billion to various charitable causes. Our education policy team has been active for nearly 40 years, addressing evolving policy challenges in technical education and career guidance.
About the role
We are looking for someone to join our education team as a Project Officer. This role is suited for someone with an interest in technical education who is a strong communicator and highly organized. You will support the implementation of programmes aimed at assisting teachers and providers with technical education reforms.
Key responsibilities include:
* Support the Head of Further Education Curriculum with programme objectives for post-16 technical education.
* Arrange logistics for meetings, conferences, and work streams of the programme.
* Manage and upload content to the Technical Education Networks’ website.
* Coordinate development and publication processes for all programme outputs, including teaching materials.
* Provide administrative and budget support for grants and contracts allocated to stakeholders.
* Liaise with Gatsby’s communications team and external stakeholders for effective communication and dissemination of programme outputs.
* Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders to ensure long-term impact and engagement.
* Ensure programme information on the Gatsby and partner websites is coherent and up to date.
* Perform any other duties to support the Education Team in delivering programme objectives.
Who are we looking for?
We seek candidates with a strong interest in improving technical education. The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience managing projects with budget responsibility.
* Experience managing external contracts or grants to meet objectives on time and within budget.
* Experience organizing successful complex meetings and events.
* Experience implementing new processes or ideas.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
* Strong writing skills for documents such as minutes, briefings, and reports.
* A strong interest in education; current knowledge of the technical education system is desirable.
