Job Purpose The Business Analyst will play a central role in collaborating across the Halfords Group to collate requirements to align the needs of business units with the capabilities delivered by Information Technology. Key Responsibilities Develop a detailed knowledge of Halfords business processes and systems. Work with stakeholders to establish how best to implement strategy using the existing systems– or identifying required change. Engage with key business stakeholders to maintain awareness of strategic, tactical, and operational change that may impact upon Technology & provide a conduit for business information to flow into the Technology team. Support the definition, documentation, and continuous improvement of Halfords Business Analysis methodology. Apply a standard methodology to undertaking structured Business Analysis engagements, agree objectives with stakeholders and plan engagements accordingly. Have the ability and experience to employ various tools and techniques to complete engagements; including, but not exclusively, focus interviews, surveys, statistical analysis, work study, process analysis and re-design, Lean/Six Sigma techniques, Agile/Scrum methodologies, system analysis, data flow analysis. Assess risk, impact, and dependencies on the delivery of developments and communicate accordingly. Produce, or assist stakeholders in the production of required documentation including, but not exclusive to; use cases/stories, requirements documents, gap analysis, process/data flows, project reports and lessons learned reviews. Manage changes to requirements through effective use of change control processes. Work with internal and external stakeholders including third party suppliers. Lead by example, being proactive rather than reactive. Actively seek to enhance knowledge of Value Streams/ Agile and Waterfall ways of working and champion those throughout the business. Key Skills/Experience Excellent business analysis skills with knowledge and experience of Agile and traditional software analysis and development methodologies (E.g. SDLC/Waterfall and Agile/Scrum). Ability to engage with management level stakeholders and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels. Demonstrates awareness of the broader importance of NFRs and data requirements. Knowledge in modelling techniques such as business process modelling, UML, user cases/user stories/Epics, User Journeys, API interface modelling and specifications. Excellent communication and presentation skills - proficient verbal and written, using appropriate techniques based on the audience. Technology knowledge & technical awareness. Experience of integrated multi-channel retail. Proven ability to illustrate complex concepts in an easy to understand way. Financial acumen and commercial awareness with the ability to understand financial and accounting implications of decisions. Problem solving and trouble-shooting.
