We're seeking a Quality Manager to take responsibility for all aspects of quality management within our nut snacking factory. If you have a passion for ensuring product safety, efficiency, and compliance while motivating a team toward manufacturing excellence, this is the role for you.
Position type: Full time, permanent
Hours: 37.5 per week
Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, 0830 - 1630
Responsibilities:
* Lead and motivate a team of 11 Quality Auditors to ensure smooth execution of intake, process, and packing checks.
* Provide coaching and development, closing skill gaps with tailored training plans.
* Foster a strong quality culture through effective leadership and clear communication.
* Maintain and enhance GMP standards through auditing, coaching, and root cause analysis.
* Ensure products meet both GMP and customer specifications.
* In collaboration with the Technical Manager, manage internal and external audits, resolving non-conformances with robust corrective actions.
* Oversee allergen management programs and raw material testing schedules.
* Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and auditors to uphold quality standards.
* In collaboration with the Technical Manager, lead site visits and audits, ensuring compliance with customer standards (e.g., COPs).
* Support NPD trials and launches, bridging communication between NPD and factory teams.
* Ensure adherence to HSE standards, supporting site improvement actions.
* Collaborate with hygiene and operational teams to ensure routine cleaning process checks.
* Keep the team informed through quality communication boards.
* Investigate complaints and implement effective preventative actions.
Minimum Requirements:
* Level 3 Food Safety and HACCP.
* Internal auditing experience or qualifications.
* Supervisory or team leadership experience within a quality role in food manufacturing.
* Strong communication, leadership, and coaching skills.
* Knowledge of pest control.
* Strong knowledge of UK retail customer codes of practice such as Tesco, M&S, Sainsbury's etc.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Proven ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and resolve root causes of quality issues.
