Job Vacancy: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) Location: Barnet, North London, NW4 Contract Type: Full-time, long term until July 2025 initially Start Date: ASAP PAY: £90 - £115 per day Hours: 8.30am-3.30pm We are working with a friendly and supportive mainstream primary school based in Hendon, Barnet, NW4, who are looking for a number of SEN Teaching Assistants to support various children with ASD on a 1:1 basis across KS1 & KS2. This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate individual to make a real difference in the life of a young learner by providing tailored support to help them thrive in the classroom. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 support ensuring their learning needs are met Assist in the delivery of differentiated lessons and activities that are adapted to the student’s individual needs Support the student with social and emotional development, using appropriate strategies to promote inclusion and engagement Monitor and record the student’s progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other strategies Promote positive behaviour and help the student develop social skills and self-regulation Essential Skills & Experience: Experience supporting children with special educational needs, particularly those with ASD An understanding of strategies and approaches to supporting children with ASD, including social skills development and emotional regulation Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team Desirable: Experience working with children with SEN Knowledge of specific interventions or programmes that support children with ASD A passion for working in special educational needs and supporting diverse learners Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential If you are a compassionate, patient, and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs, we would love to hear from you
