Job description
About the role
We are recruiting for Scheme Project Managers and Project Managers to join our Transportation Business Line to safely deliver £10-100m portfolios of challenging rail infrastructure projects, for clients such as Network Rail, Transport for London, HS2, Train Operating Companies and many more. You will be responsible for leading a high performing team and will be instrumental in the growth of Egis. These roles are permanent positions based in Manchester, York or Leeds.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Plan and manage a portfolio of non-complex or packages throughout the complete project lifecycle.
* Responsible for providing a clear vision and direction when leading a high performing team through effective management as well as undertaking performance and development line management responsibilities for direct reports
* Responsible for compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and championing the Health and Safety culture, resolving arising issues or escalating as appropriate and ensuring safe delivery in line with the corporate safety vision.
* Accountable for complex internal and external stakeholder engagement/management. Agree project requirements with the Project Sponsor to ensure that business objectives are met.
* Propose and agree contract strategy with key internal stakeholders. Produce Invitation to Tender documentation and manage procurement events to secure all necessary contracts for successful portfolio delivery.
* Lead on supply chain contract management, including management of early warnings, contract change and change control.
* Accountable for the delivery and schedule management of multiple projects, interrogating programmes, challenging slippage and making best for programme decisions. Responsible for promoting a collaborative ethos to work through project issues with stakeholders and implement solutions.
* Responsible for the day-to-day management of project governance, reporting and control structures, with issues, risks and decisions escalated through the agreed Governance arrangements as appropriate.
* Lead on all financial reporting, including periodic senior management board meetings.
Profile
* Rail experience is essential.
* Member of the Association of Project Management (or equivalent).
* A degree or equivalent.
* Relevant experience in managing projects to time, cost and quality standards.
* Experience implementing GRIP, PACE, Pathway or other project management methodologies.
* Contract administration experience.
* Ability to interrogate project programmes (P6 and/or MSP)
* Financial management/control experience.
* Experience in people management, developing and empowering direct reports
* Demonstrable experience in stakeholder management, leading teams through complex project environments
