Job Description Below is an outline of the responsibilities for this position: - Building, implementing, integrating, and managing IT infrastructure solutions - Providing high-quality technical solutions to clients based on their business needs - Working with IBM teams, including clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other partners - Applying technical skills in client billable services and implementation environments - The role requires working 12.5-hour shifts in a pattern of 4 shifts on followed by 3 shifts off, and alternately, 3 shifts on followed by 4 shifts off. The role also includes shift allowances and involves rotation within a 24/7 Data Centre operation. Remote work options are not available for this position. Specific tasks include: - Racking, building, cabling, configuring, and provisioning servers - Racking, cabling, and deploying networking equipment - Troubleshooting, testing, and quality assurance of server hardware - Professionally resolving hardware issues via trouble tickets - Troubleshooting and resolving problems with basic network and operating system installations and configurations - Monitoring and managing datacenter infrastructure - Monitoring and assisting the automated provisioning system for new server orders - Monitoring and escalating issues with customer servers as necessary - Monitoring and escalating any abnormalities in the datacenter through regular walkthroughs Being You IBM IBM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer. Required Technical and Professional Expertise • 2 to 3 years of experience working in a 24/7 datacenter environment, preferably with IBM Cloud • Experience in Operating System Installation (Windows Server, Linux, Unix, VMWare, etc.) • Experience in racking, cabling, and deploying servers and networking equipment • Good knowledge of PC hardware concepts and component installation • Good knowledge of various internet-related services and software (mail, web, trouble ticket system, etc). • Solid understanding of RAID technologies • Able to work in shift rotations that may include day, evening, overnight and/or during weekends, holiday • Must be willing to learn quickly, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment • Must be fluent in English. Applicable IT certifications: CompTIA (A, Server, Network), Cisco (CCNA) Customer focused attitude with previous customer service experience.
