Our client, a celebrated British luxury brand, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic team. This role is integral to the smooth running of their finance function, with a focus on weekly payroll and accounts payable responsibilities as well as further responsibility into month-end accounting and merchandising. What you'll do:
1. Manage the accounts inbox and process supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and correct coding to relevant nominal codes.
2. Manage supplier payments, including preparation of payment runs.
3. Reconcile supplier statements, resolving any discrepancies promptly.
4. Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the daily cash flow forecast.
5. Assist in the preparation of month-end reconciliations and reports.
6. Prepare and process weekly payroll for all factory employees and monthly payroll for all salaried employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
7. Maintain payroll records, handle employee queries, and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
8. Support the Head of Finance and General Manager with HR related activities.
What you bring:
1. Previous experience in an accounts assistant or finance role.
2. Knowledge of payroll processing, ideally with experience using payroll software.
3. Familiarity with accounts payable processes and accounting systems (e.g., Xero).
4. Strong numerical and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
6. A proactive attitude and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
7. A genuine interest in the luxury fashion industry is a bonus!
