York Campus – Fixed Term
About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Wildlife Education Officer with a qualification in an animal related subject or relevant experience to join our Wildlife and Conservation Park here at our York campus. This role will be working on a summer seasonal contract working a 5 hours day over our busiest period, from the end of June until the end of August for 10 weeks. The role covers 7 days a week which can be split amongst the successful candidates.
We are seeking an individual who will be responsible for creating a positive visitor experience, front of house duties, visitor engagement, animal talks and experiences for our visitors to the park. Sector experience and knowledge specifically in Wildlife Conservation will be beneficial.
The successful candidate will be a welcoming face at front of house and help run our educational events throughout the year. This includes hosting schools/groups, public talks, assisting with social media content, inputting ideas for educational interpretation, and delivering excellent animal experiences for our guests.
Educated to a level 2 or above (relevant experience will also be considered) with excellent knowledge of Wildlife conservation and animal welfare. This is a great opportunity for those looking for more experience or between studying in a gap year.
