Job Title: Flexible Packaging Strategic Sourcing Manager Location: Slough, UK (Hybrid – 1 days per week in office) Duration: 9-month contract Overview: A global leader in the consumer goods and food & beverage industry is seeking a Flexible Packaging Strategic Sourcing Manager to spearhead key strategic sourcing initiatives within their packaging category. This role focuses on optimizing sourcing strategies for flexible packaging, with a strong emphasis on value creation, supply security, and sustainability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Operations, Quality, and Finance to enhance supply chain performance and drive innovation. Key Responsibilities: Lead strategic sourcing efforts for flexible packaging, managing a $110M category. Identify and implement cost-saving, efficiency, and growth opportunities while focusing on sustainability and incorporating recycled content into packaging solutions. Develop and execute sourcing strategies, building strong relationships with key suppliers. Act as the subject matter expert for flexible packaging, analyzing market trends and managing price risks. Work collaboratively with global teams to maximize sourcing opportunities and align with business objectives. Drive transformational projects with a focus on packaging innovation, sustainability, and process improvements. Lead sourcing activities such as RFIs, RFPs, and eAuctions, leveraging eProcurement tools. Build business cases, conduct complex data analysis, and lead supplier negotiations. Oversee the supplier selection process and ensure the successful execution of transition plans. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring alignment with cost, supply security, and sustainability goals. Qualifications & Experience: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Procurement, with at least 2 years in Flexible Packaging sourcing. Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost management. Strong understanding of commodity markets, price mitigation strategies, and financial modeling. Experience working within global, cross-functional teams and managing high-visibility projects. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Familiarity with eProcurement and eSourcing tools. Ability to manage complex business issues, navigate change, and influence stakeholders in a dynamic environment. Previous experience in retail or FMCG sectors is preferred. Additional Information: Ability to travel (up to 20% of the time). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering results.
