Macmillan Specialist Dietitian (Living with and Beyond Cancer)

The Living with and Beyond Cancer (LWBC) Team are looking to recruit an experienced band 6 dietitian with an interest in cancer services to a 22 month (fixed-term) position. This is an exciting opportunity to support the development of an expanding, specialist multidisciplinary therapy service.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients to stay healthy, when they need it most.
Job responsibilities
You would be required to deliver a high quality, evidence-based nutrition and dietetic service to adult patients within the Trust acute service for lung, gynaecological, onco-urological, and breast cancers. Services will focus on providing dietetic care in an outpatient environment through face-to-face, telephone or video consultations and structured patient education sessions. The LWBC Dietitian service will run alongside well-established oncology dietetic services in Northern and Eastern services. The post holder will contribute to the establishment of clear referral pathways to and from the LWBC Therapy Team, enabling patients to receive timely and responsive care at each stage of their treatment.
Training of healthcare professionals on nutrition and diet matters is also required. They will be responsible for service developments and formulations of policies, guidelines and procedure development in their area. This will include updating and development of nutrition and diet literature and resources and to ensure this is non-biased and evidence based / best practice. They will be a source of expertise in the nutritional management of patients undergoing and post-cancer treatment within the Trust.
You will have working relationships with dietitians across Northern and Eastern services, but will receive professional support from the Team Lead Oncology Dietitian (Eastern services). You will be managed by the Macmillan Clinical AHP Lead (Physiotherapist). This post is funded by Macmillan, which will enable you to have additional access to learning courses and grants, clinical updates and networking events.
The LWBC Therapy team strive to provide equitable access to services across Northern and Eastern services, holding clinics at multiple hospital sites. The post-holder must be able to drive and have access to a road-worthy vehicle.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours/week. Monday-Friday. Part time working and flexible working will also be considered.

This is a fixed term contract for 22 months. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.

Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 a year (pro rata)
