Unite People are working with a specialist Civil engineering, who are looking to appoint a freelance Mechanical Engineer to oversee schemes in the water & infrastructure sector.
Working on projects in West Yorkshire, you will be involved in the whole project life cycle, providing design and construction support for installation of M&E elements at water treatment facilities.
You will hold responsibility for working and liaising with project managers, technical leaders, clients, supply chain partners and sub-contractors to achieve positive outcomes for the projects.
You will be an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject. You will ideally have experience of working with a water board client, i.e., Yorkshire Water, United Utilities, Northumbrian Water. Alternatively, candidates with experience in energy, infrastructure & environmental sectors will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and deliver electrical engineering projects within Yorkshire Water's infrastructure.
2. Oversee contractors and suppliers, ensuring work complies with technical, quality, and safety standards.
3. Prepare and review documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and technical reports.
4. Ensure consistent support in project planning and budgeting.
5. Oversee project scopes, technical specifications, and design solutions.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
2. CSCS Card or equivalent.
3. Proven experience in the UK water sector, particularly working on water treatment or wastewater projects.
4. Strong understanding of health and safety legislation.
