An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CHCSW to join our team in the Outpatients Department at Pilgrim Hospital. This position will be working mainly in the Fracture Clinic to cover Maternity Leave, but will be expected to assist in covering all Departments within the Outpatients area, as required. The successful candidate will join a friendly and supportive team where we encourage staff to learn new skills that aid with clinic delivery.
Working under delegation and supervision of a registered Nurse/ Midwife, the Clinical Health Care Support Worker (CHCSW) will undertake defined responsibilities appropriate to their role in the workplace setting.
They will comply with Trust policies, protocols, guidelines, the fifteen standards of the Care Certificate and the national strategy of Compassion in Practice and will ensure safe, compassionate and competent care is delivered to our patients and service users at all times.
Main duties of the job
Pilgrim Outpatients is seeking a part time CHCSW to join dedicated teams and work within the Fracture Clinic. As a Clinical Health Care Support Worker, you will be responsible for working under the delegation and supervision of a Registered Nurse or Nursing Associate in delivering a high standard of care to our patients in accordance with individualised care needs.
Successful candidates will need to be able to work across a 7-day working week, but most clinics operate between 08:30-1800 Monday to Friday.

Qualifications
* Literacy and numeracy qualifications equivalent to Functional Skills level 1 or above (e.g. GCSE grade E or above)
* NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care or equivalent qualification or relevant experience
* Evidence of the Care Certificate or commitment to achieve on joining Trust
Previous Experience
* Significant experience of the NHS and/or health/child care and an interest in the speciality with knowledge of wider issues relating to health care
* Clear understanding of professional accountability, delegation and professionalism related to the role of a band 3 worker
* Able to deliver a high standard of care for patients
