Position Summary We have a fantastic, new opportunity for an experienced Laboratory Manager at our Princes Gate production facility in Pembrokeshire. The main purpose of this role will be to manage the implementation and operation of the factory laboratory function to ensure product and process conformance to required standards. You will lead your team to provide technical support to factory operations and coordinate implementation of 'best-in-class' standards and procedures. A day in the life of a Laboratory Manager Your key responsibilities will include but will not be limited to: - Set the direction of and manage the factory laboratory function to ensure a reliable service to the business. Be the point of escalation for lab issues and manage the collaboration of external stakeholders. - Manage and develop the laboratory staff, with responsibility for the people processes of the department (recruitment, PDP etc). Ensure appropriate knowledge and competence of all staff operating within the laboratory function. - Develop and issue the Internal Compliance Plan for the lab. Ensure the laboratory follows the site QMS and Nestle requirements (including Testing schedules, Sensory panels etc). - Ensure 7-day laboratory operation: Maintain personal knowledge and competence and perform laboratory analysis as per the factory requirements as detailed in laboratory work rota. - Lead Quality in Water Treatment & CIP management, including management of the DDCD/Line Health programmes/ effluent testing. - Act as site Lab Safety and Biosafety Champion What will make you successful You will ideally be an experienced Laboratory Manager with some experience of line management would be desirable. Experience in an FMCG environment would also be ideal, but other areas of experience will be considered. Academic Experience: - University graduate or equivalent (preferred microbiology, chemistry or food science) Operational Experience: - Leader in a technical/production environment: Deputy QA, Quality Systems, Hygienist; or - QA specialist in a PTC or R&D Centre, NRC, CO-QM Business Experience: - Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams What you need to know What can we offer in return?
