Job Title: Fork Lift Truck Driver (Manufacturing Services)
Reports to: Manufacturing Services Team Leader
Hours: Monday to Friday rotating shift of 6 am to 2 pm and 2 pm to 10 pm
Salary: Starting from £12.75 per hour increasing to £13.10 after training - with further increases awarded as you progress through the grading structure.
A Day in The Life of a Manufacturing Services Operative:
As a Manufacturing Services Operative, you will work within a team to ensure efficient operation of all Warehouse activities in accordance with our safety, housekeeping, and hygiene standards. Your key responsibilities include:
* Be responsible for safely driving our FLT’s in adherence to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
* Maintaining FLT’s and checking they are safe for operation before use, including FLT battery water levels.
* Supplying manufacturing areas with required materials in a timely manner.
* Correctly carrying out stock transactions.
* Ensure any issues that arise with FLT’s are reported promptly to the appropriate person.
* Move and store materials safely in accordance with safe weight limits.
* Maintain your work area and ensure packaging waste is correctly segregated.
* Report any issues that could impact safety, cost, or quality to the department manager.
Personal qualities and experience:
* You must have a current FLT licence for Reach and/or Counterbalance from a recognised training body.
* Knowledge of Warehouse Stock Systems with the ability to navigate around them independently.
* Reliability, punctuality, and consistency are essential to enable you to work effectively as a team member.
* A willingness to learn, share knowledge and develop.
* A willingness to work in a fast paced and rewarding environment.
* Good verbal, written and numerical skills.
