About The Role:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Prison and Community Workers to join our dynamic and collaborative team. This role is integral to the delivery of trauma-informed, person-centred support for individuals leaving prison and transitioning back into the community. You will work within a partnership of eight leading charities, ensuring a seamless and supportive reintegration process.
Your work will be vital in supporting people who are leaving prison after a sentence of less than four years or a period on remand.
About Your Key Skills And Experience:
* Trauma-Informed Approach: A strong understanding and practical application of trauma-informed, person-centred support principles.
* Relationship Building: Proven ability to establish trust and build meaningful relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
* Collaborative Working: Experience working collaboratively with multiple agencies, including statutory and voluntary services.
* Risk and Safeguarding: Experience in completing risk assessments, safeguarding practices, and working within a compliance-driven environment.
* Adaptability: Flexibility and responsiveness to service demands, with a willingness to work across various cohorts and prison establishments.
* Record-Keeping and Administration: Strong organizational skills with an ability to maintain accurate and timely case management records.
Key Responsibilities:
* Demonstrate commitment to establishing trusting and genuine relationships, rooted in trauma-informed principles.
* Work collaboratively with the partnership team to deliver relational support for people accessing the NVTP.
* Deliver supportive and collaborative partnership working with the Scottish Prison Service, as a critical stakeholder.
* Proactively engage with individuals throughout their journey to ensure appropriate touchpoints with the NVTP.
* Facilitate and lead engagement sessions across the prison estate.
* Support and deliver effective pre-release planning.
* Contribute to multi-agency meetings.
* Complete robust and dynamic risk assessments and safeguarding practice.
* Conduct suitable needs assessment tools tailored to the individual.
* Deliver gate liberation support at this critical juncture.
* Complete accurate and timely records on the case management system to maintain high-quality service standards.
* Identify suitable onward referrals at the earliest appropriate point.
* Actively participate in partnership meetings to support team working and service improvement.
* Adhere to role training requirements of the NVT service and Scottish Prison Service.
* Be flexible and responsive to service demand and willingness to work across cohorts and prison establishments as required.

Where applicable, successful candidates will be required to register with the SSSC within 6 months of start date.
