Are you an experienced commercial professional with a strong knowledge of transport operations? if so, this role is for you Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) already own and manage the largest light rail network in the UK, with Metrolink being an iconic part of the Greater Manchester landscape. Since September 2023 TfGM have started to take responsibility for the local control of buses, which will culminate in January 2025 with franchised services being rolled out in South Manchester, Stockport and Tameside. Your role We re seeking a Franchise and Contract Commercial Lead within our bus directorate to manage the franchises with various bus operators, who operate and maintain the transport network on our behalf. You will lead the application of best practice contract and commercial management throughout the contract lifecycle, acting as a conduit between TfGM and the transport operators ensuring compliance to contracts, management of contract changes and adherence of performance indicators, all whilst driving continuous improvement, developing new ways of working and ensuring an effective return on investment. What you ll bring You will be a commercial professional with extensive experience of providing effective commercial management, ideally (but not essential) in relation to transport operations. You will have substantial experience of managing large value contracts, as well as substantial experience of complex contract procurement, development, implementation, variation negotiation and management. What we can offer This is permanent position with a salary between 56,361 to 63,438 per annum (depending on skills and experience).
