Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role: Who will you be supporting? We are a mix of male and females who live at Brindley Crescent, there are 7 of us that live and receive support at Brindley Crescent. We vary in ages, the oldest of us being 72 years young. We all have different support needs, however most of us have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Some of us have Mental Health Needs and some have Learning Disabilities alongside. We need you to train in all aspects of our support needs, some of us even deliver our own person-centred training. What is important to us? We are proud of where we live as it is our home, we have access to the gardens and a communal room. Each of us have a fob to access the communal entrance then the key to our own front doors. We are happy as we have the freedom to make our flats our own individual homes. We have support to access the community, this is important (most of us love to shop). We have other providers come to our service to support us to access community in addition to the support received from Community Integrated Care. For some of us food is very important and most of our outings can be associated with food, we need your help with this as it is connected to our health and wellbeing. Some of us are independent and access the community without support, and are very active and fill our days with sporting activities, volunteering and accessing day services. Some of us are very involved in the volunteering opportunities that can be accessed through the support of the staff at Community Integrated Care, through their volunteering services. For some of us you need to love animals as we have pets that may need care from us with your support. Some of us go to work with animals and again you may need to help us take care of them. Other information? We have staff 24/7 on site. We can access them whenever we need support. The staff work shifts either, an early or late, then there is a Sleep In. Early-0700-1430, Mid, Late 1400-2130/1430-2200, Sleep In 2200-0700, The staff are also provided with all the support, induction and training they will need to support us.
