You’ll be part of a dynamic team, delivering life-changing treatments, including Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT), while working in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
We are offering full time/part time positions. Working long days, nights, weekends Monday - Sunday on the ward and within the day unit Monday - Saturday.
A SACT qualification is not essential when applying for this role, as full training will be provided to the successful candidate. We are committed to developing our team and offer excellent progression opportunities, including the chance to advance to a Band 6 Nurse role. This career progression is supported in-house through the ASCEND programme, ensuring you receive structured training, mentorship, and hands-on experience to enhance your skills and expertise in Oncology and Haematology nursing.
Main duties of the job
To work across both Turner ward and Ricky Grant Day Unit as a registered nurse within a team responsible for the care of patients admitted as a result of their cancer diagnosis or side effects of their treatment and for the administration of Systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT) in the nurse led Day Unit setting.
* To improve practice by continuous professional development. You will gain a broad spectrum of clinical proficiency to deliver SACT through the Ascend programme.
* To conform to COSHH and Health and Safety regulations whilst dealing with cytotoxic drugs ensuring a safe working environment.
* To provide clinical advice, training, education and support to patients, relatives and other professional colleagues.
* To promote a safe clinical environment for all patients, their carers, visitors and staff and to comply with the Trust and relevant network policies, procedures, guidelines, protocols, values and expected behaviours.
