Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant position is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, financial records, preparation of journal entries as required and various general ledger account reconciliations.
This position will assist and provide recommendations in the continuous evolution for improving and enhancing the content of the service delivery model to the organization as a whole. In addition, the position will be requested to easily adapt to an agile, changing work environment in the performance of assigned tasks and special projects in a growing organization.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare and post monthly journal entries (standard, non-standard, recurring, etc.), accruals and other day-to-day activities as assigned.
* Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
* Perform designated account reconciliations, including the reconciliation of sub-ledger systems to the general ledger balances.
* Prepare variance analyses of accounts, account classifications, account groupings/categories for providing a sound and solid understanding of any such variances.
* Assist with the preparation of standard and any special-requested report(s) (balance sheets, income statements, and monthly closing reports) according to certain agreed upon standards, e.g. Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP), IFRS or other regulatory requirements.
* Prepare supporting schedules and analysis for annual audits.
* Assist with continuous/periodic internal control self-assessment evaluations.
Qualification
Education & Experience:
* 1+ year(s) experience within the general accounting function
* Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
Specific Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
* Experience and competent in the use of integrated ERP software (SAP experience preferred)
* Experience and competent Microsoft Office user (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Experience working in a Shared Service Organization preferred
