We are looking for a Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Officer to join our team. We are flexible around the location with a requirement to travel to our Scottish offices as and when required.
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the General Counsel and the Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager, the individual will assist with the day-to-day management of the GRC framework for Johnston Carmichael LLP
The GRC Officer will be responsible for (but not limited to):
* Production and collation of monthly GRC function reporting
* Production and collation of information to support the firm's Board and other committees
* Respond to and manage internal queries from across the firm as required
* Assist in the management, development and monitoring of the firm's Anti-Money Laundering policy, processes and reporting
* Assist in managing the firm's risk management and reporting framework
* Assist in managing the firm's GDPR/data protection policy, processes and reporting
* Assist in managing and monitoring of all other GRC policies, including anti-bribery and whistleblowing
* Assist in managing complaints received into the firm and potential Professional Indemnity matters, including liaising with the firm's insurers
* Assist in developing, managing and distributing GRC information, advice and guidance to the firm
* Management and maintenance of GRC function's annual calendar of activities and deliverables
* Liaise with the firm's other Business Lines and Support Functions to ensure a co-ordinated approach in supporting the firm's operations
* Assist with other strategic GRC projects, including collation and submission of the firm's annual compliance and insurance obligations
About You:
* Experience of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) in a regulatory environment and managing & mitigating data protection risk
* Experience in a governance, risk or compliance role would be advantageous
* Experience working directly with regulators would be advantageous
* Sound understanding of the principles and procedures around AML, risk management and GDPR/data protection
* Pragmatic, flexible and adaptable with the ability to manage changing priorities
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels of the firm
* Demonstrates resilience and ability to take decisive action
