Level 2 Health and Social Care Apprentice
(customer or ex-customer only)
Hallbank House, Hexham
Full Time (37.5 hours per week) with flexible hours available
Fixed term 15 months (with progression into permanent opportunities available)
Hourly Pay between £8.60 to £11.44 (dependant on age)

Typical day as a Health and Social Care Apprentice
1. Assisting customers with practical, daily living tasks to develop their independence, helping them to achieve the goals, aspirations and outcomes documented in their support plans.
2. Helping customers with daily living activities such as making meals, shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation if they are able.
3. Contributing to support planning, goal setting and regular reviews.
4. Cuppas, chats and catch ups. There’s no rushing from one customer to the next here! Plenty of time to work together with colleagues too.
5. In this role and you will learn lots by working at different days and times to get involved with different activities.

You’ll bring
6. Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working together with an eye for detail
7. Experience of services like ours; you may have accessed a service like ours in the past and/or have experience of supporting other people on a voluntary basis
8. Basic Microsoft Office Skills, Information Technology with a willingness to learn our electronic on-line systems and bespoke software
9. Basic numeracy and literacy, ideally with a minimum Level 1 ability in English and Maths – to support you with your qualification, keeping records and support tasks
10. The ability to remain calm under pressure, have a resilient approach, be observant and offer insightful ideas for encouraging our customers to achieve their personal goals
11. And will recognise that every customer is different and you’re able to adopt a flexible, personal approach, listening to customers to understand their needs

You’ll join Lisa and our amazing team who are based in Hallbank House, Hexham, we’re super passionate about what we do! We’re really proud of the fun group activity engagement we get in our service. We’re a supportive bunch and like to regularly hold a good BBQ and have fun outings. We're a close team of six who are super supportive and always have a smile.

13. Your wage will be higher than the national apprenticeship minimum wage, so start planning what to spend that extra cash on!
14. You’ll be employed for a 15-month period to get stacks of experience and launch your career. You’ll start at level 2 with possible progression onto a level 3!
15. Many of our apprentices secure a permanent role with us so who knows where you’ll end up in the future!
16. Flexible working hours (or we’re open to agreeing a work pattern with you)
17. It’s important you’re at work when our team are around to support you so, although hours of work are usually 9am-5pm, flexibility is important.
18. You will have built in time (20% of your working week) for study and support for working towards your qualification
