We are looking to recruit a Financial Controller to join their busy Head Office in Ayrshire, just 30 minutes from Glasgow.
The role is a permanent position and will enjoy hybrid working split between the office and working from home.
The position is an opportunity for a hands-on qualified / experienced accountant to oversee the finance team and to work in a high-profile No.2 position reporting into the executive team.
JOB DETAILS
Leading on the completion of a broad range of accounting processes, with support from the transactional team, including:
* Preparation of management accounts
* Leading on budgeting and forecasting
* Providing lead financial input on proposed new ventures
* Due diligence on potential acquisition targets
* Month-end accruals and prepayments, overhead analysis
* Balance sheet / control account reconciliations
* Processing intercompany transactions and reconciling intercompany accounts
* Processing other regular journals, including analysis of expenses and journals
* Sales invoicing, in conjunction with our commercial team
* Leading on cashflow forecasting and reporting
* Reviewing and approving pay runs
This role will play a key leadership role in supporting the team members to produce timely and accurate information for the business. You will oversee the day-to-day processing of Accounts Payable and Sales Ledger, assisting team members with the resolution of queries and issues.
You will take a proactive approach to ensure that internal and external reporting deadlines are met, including the provision of information to company Directors for weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting.
You will provide guidance and coaching support to all members of the Finance Team, as required and will undertake additional commercial tasks, as required, to support the business operations.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
* Qualified or qualified by experience accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS etc)
* Experience of running a finance team including ensuring statutory compliance, i.e. vat & payroll
* Experience of cash management and forecasting
* Highly-organised and able to handle and prioritise multiple tasks
* Excellent communication skills at all levels
* IT literate including previous experience of accounting software packages
* High level of confidence in the use of Excel and other Microsoft packages
* Able to work diligently and accurately with a keen eye for detail and high degree of first-time accuracy
* Able to work to regular deadlines
