We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established company specialising in commercial and industrial plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning services. With over 30 years of industry experience, this company is known for delivering high-quality projects from start to completion. They are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their team.
Your new role
As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical projects. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Analysing project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates.
* Consulting with clients, vendors, and internal teams to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
* Preparing detailed proposals and bid documents.
* Reviewing and evaluating cost estimates.
* Maintaining records of estimated and actual costs.
* Assisting in the procurement process by identifying and selecting suppliers and subcontractors.
* Participating in project handover meetings to ensure a smooth transition from estimation to project execution.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the building services industry.
2. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
3. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
4. Proficiency in estimation software and tools.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
6. Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field are preferred, such as an HNC/D in Building Services, though this is not necessary.
7. Commercial experience is essential.
8. A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
