The Thames Water Inventory and Supply team are responsible for managing network & critical materials, field engineering parts & tools, and mobile plant through our distribution centres, strategic distribution hubs, and depots. Operating 24/7, 365 days a year, to provide real-time distribution and equipment services supporting Thames Water's service commitments.
Role Overview: As a Logistics Scheduler, you will understand resource requirements and constraints to prioritize resources effectively, supporting field engineers' work. The role demands organization, effective planning, team engagement, and clear communication with stakeholders.
1. Engage with Planning team and Enablers to assess workload and prioritize jobs on both planned and reactive bases.
2. Plan and assign collection and delivery tasks to Support Drivers using Salesforce, considering skill sets and geographic locations.
3. Prepare jobs for works (SLG, cone offs, letter drops) in Salesforce, ensuring all materials and equipment are delivered and set up before work begins.
4. Ensure all job details comply with traffic management and streetworks legislation to avoid penalties.
5. Promote health and safety standards among Support Drivers, aligning with Thames Water’s safety policies.
6. Manage and prioritize Support Drivers’ workload to meet job priorities (2-hour, 4-hour).
7. Monitor job progress through updates from planning, dig teams, and supervisors, adjusting resources as needed.
8. Provide daily reports on resource utilization and completed jobs to maintain service commitments.
9. Oversee collections to prevent overruns, coordinate with planning to ensure permits are valid, and escalate potential fines.
10. Track Salesforce forecasts for job completion to plan site inspections and clearance.
11. Prepare weekly reports on weekend work to ensure resource and material availability.
What you should bring:
* Strong organizational skills and understanding of work management systems.
* Excellent attention to detail, scheduling, and planning abilities.
* Proficiency with business-critical systems like Salesforce, SAP, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
