About the Role: Teach Design and Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a focus on resistant materials. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities. Guide and support students in using a range of tools, equipment, and materials to design and create products. Encourage students to apply their knowledge of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes to solve real-world problems. Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys. Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our D&T curriculum remains relevant and challenging. Foster a love of Design and Technology in students, encouraging them to explore their creativity, develop their practical skills, and become innovative problem-solvers. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in D&T education. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent. Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Design and Technology, with a specialism in resistant materials. Demonstrates a passion for teaching D&T and a commitment to student success. Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for D&T. Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
