We are currently recruiting for a Paralegal to join our Employment team in Manchester.
Our Employment team handles a range of matters relating to discrimination, harassment, redundancy and unfair dismissal. We also support trade unions and their members, some of which are the largest in the UK with any needs they may have. With members of our team represented in the Legal 500, we provide world-class services to our clients, ensuring that their cases are well handled and ensuring we do the absolute best to ensure the optimum result.
We are looking for a skilled individual who can support our fee earners with handling client matters, offering a high level of care, ensuring compliance with the National Practice Standards. The successful applicant will also be expected to manage financial aspects of matters, including time recording, billing and debtor management, enabling both their own personal fee budget, along with supporting the fee earners with theirs and providing legal and administrative support to fee earners on various client matters.
We would also require the successful candidate to work alongside one of our Associates, providing support by reading legal correspondence that is in paper or digital format (where it cannot be accessed by speech software), carrying out calculations for schedules of loss, undertaking legal research with direction from the Associate, whilst also proof reading documents to correct any typographical errors/formatting issues, along with any general administrative support. Please note this list is not exhaustive and other duties may be requested as and when required.
We would encourage those with knowledge and understanding of basic legal concepts learnt from legal education such as undergraduate law, LLM, LPC, GDL or ILEX study; or equivalent work experience; or successful completion of the Paralegal Apprenticeship scheme to apply. We are looking for those with proficient experience with Microsoft Office and relevant business practice systems.
