The Harris Birthright Research Centre is a world-renowned fetal medicine institute pioneering early risk assessments and preventive strategies for pregnancy complications. Role Overview: As the Laboratory Quality Manager, you’ll ensure our Quality Management System (QMS) meets ISO 15189 standards, guide us in applying for and maintaining UKAS accreditation. You will lead quality initiatives, oversee audits, manage non-conformities, and drive continuous improvement, acting as a key liaison with internal teams and external accreditation bodies. Key Responsibilities: Implement and maintain the QMS in line with ISO 15189 and UKAS requirements Manage SOPs, document control, audits, and corrective actions Support clinical governance activities and compliance with regulatory standards Mentor staff on quality best practices and drive a culture of continuous improvement Engage with internal stakeholders and external accreditation and regulatory bodies Qualifications & Experience: MSc in a relevant scientific field or equivalent experience HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist or equivalent 5 years’ experience in a clinical/research lab quality role Strong knowledge of ISO 15189, clinical governance, and UKAS accreditation Proven leadership in training, auditing, and quality systems management Desirable: Formal qualification in quality management Familiarity with Lean methodologies, molecular diagnostics, or genomics Skills: Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities Proficiency in laboratory IT and QMS platforms Adaptability and strong attention to detail Join us to uphold excellence in genomic and fetal medicine research and make a meaningful impact on maternal and fetal health.
