Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant with experience in Sage and Xero to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in accounting and will support various finance functions to ensure accurate and timely financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in managing purchase and sales ledgers.
2. Perform regular bank reconciliations across multiple accounts.
3. Support the preparation of financial reports and statements.
4. Handle supplier and customer inquiries professionally.
5. Assist with VAT returns and compliance tasks.
6. Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes.
7. Collaborate with the finance team on administrative duties and special projects.
8. Perform ad hoc administrative and accounts tasks as required to support the finance team.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Experience: Minimum 3 years in an accounting or finance-related role.
2. Software Skills: Proficiency in Sage and Xero is essential.
3. Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
4. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data handling.
5. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
6. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
7. Teamwork: Collaborative attitude and ability to work within a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
2. AAT Level 3 qualification
