Are you interested in working for a charity that has been changing the lives of older people and those with learning disabilities and dementia for over 25 years?
We would love to hear from you!
The Fremantle Trust has an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join our team on a full-time basis, based at our supported living services in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
Supported living is a concept that supports people to live independently who may still require help with personal care. The Fremantle Trust provides innovative and person-centred care for adults with a learning disability through a tailored support programme. Our fundamental principle is to give every single person we support the toolkit they need to live life to the full and as independently as possible. The people we support live in their own homes which may mean shared housing, individual flats, and general community housing.
The Deputy Manager role is fundamental to the success of the service through effective delivery of providing support to the Service Manager in ensuring all service users and staffing needs are met. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Service Manager to embed a safe and welcoming environment for service users, their families, staff, and visitors.
Principal tasks will include:
1. Demonstrating high professional standards and leadership to support the Service Manager in ensuring staffing requirements and needs are met in line with Trust, CQC, and Local Authority standards.
2. Supporting the Service Manager to promote a culture where service users and their friends and relatives are respected and treated as equals and with dignity in the running of the service and in their day-to-day support needs.
3. Encouraging service employees to engage in and support the implementation of Trust policies and procedures, legal requirements, and relevant codes of practice. Reviewing these regularly with the Service Manager to ensure they meet the needs of the service, seeking support from colleagues and professional bodies/organizations where required to achieve this.
4. Providing support to the Service Manager and employees towards the service being rated ‘Good’ or above by CQC.
5. Monitoring, auditing, and reviewing the service regularly, taking appropriate corrective action where necessary and escalating to the Service Manager when necessary.
6. Working in partnership with the Trust’s Quality and Compliance team to ensure the internal quality assurance framework is embedded in the service and participate in audits via internal/external stakeholders.
7. Ensuring the Trust’s care and support systems are effectively operated and lead to positive outcomes for people who use our services.
This list of duties and responsibilities is not exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to undertake other relevant and appropriate duties as reasonably required. This job description is subject to regular review and appropriate modification.
