Our client is a leading food manufacturing business, with multiple sites in the UK. Due to an increase in headcount and up and coming retirements within the business they are looking for multi-skilled maintenance engineers to join their close knit engineering team.
Role & Responsibilities:
1. Carry out planned maintenance and fault finding / breakdowns
2. Working on fully automated food production & packaging machinery, conveyor driven lines
3. Dealing with control panels, motors, sensors, pneumatics, inverters, relays, contactors, bearings
4. Electrical & mechanical fault finding & repairs
5. PLC – electrical fault finding
6. Project work – new machine electrical installations & site developments
7. Carry out pre-production machine startups and checks
8. Manage maintenance records, PPM’s schedules, ordering spares/parts, machine availability
9. Contractor management – signing in, RTW’s, completing inductions, health & safety
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
10. Multi-Skilled Engineers – but must be electrically biased
11. NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering – Time-served Apprenticeship ideally
12. Must have worked in food manufacturing or FMCG production environments previously
13. Excellent problem solving & fault diagnosis skills
14. Both strong electrical & mechanical fault finding and repair skills
15. Must have at least 5+ years experience in a similar maintenance engineering position
16. Dealt with high-speed production & packaging machinery
17. Worked on PLC systems, Control Panels, HMi’s & SCADA Systems
18. Beneficial to have electrical safety knowledge of isolations and electrical H&S standards
19. Bonus if have 17th / 18th Edition
20. Knowledge of health & safety standards
21. Self-driven and motivated character
22. Excellent written & spoken communication skills
23. Beneficial if can carry out welding & fabrication work
24. Comfortable contributing to the success within a small engineering team
