As a Senior Technical Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the architectural vision and strategy both for future projects and day to day operations. You will lead the design, development, and implementation of high-quality technical solutions that meet both functional and non-functional requirements. Your expertise will guide the technical direction of projects, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
This role will be within the platform team and the key area of responsibility will be the Azure Infrastructure that supports our Microsoft power platform and Microsoft Dynamics 365 environments. This role will therefore require experience within these technologies and within a technical Dev Ops role. Currently, this workload is outsourced, and we will be looking for the new role holder to work as part of the platform team alongside another Senior Technical Architect to define the team with the aim to look at opportunities to insource.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, secure and improve the current Dynamics and Power Platform Infrastructure.
2. Conduct Infrastructure reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and standards.
3. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance existing systems.
4. Develop and maintain architectural documentation.
5. Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues.
Person Specification:
1. Strong understanding of architectural patterns, design principles, and best practices.
2. Good understanding of Power Platform and Dynamics 365 Infrastructure.
3. Proven experience of working with DevOps Pipelines, Azure DevOps and automated deployment.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
5. Proven track record of delivering successful technical projects and solutions.
6. Experience in managing technical teams.
This role can be based in Bristol, Swansea, Nottingham, Newcastle, Oldham, Leeds or Birmingham, your presence at one of these locations will form part of the working arrangements agreed with you. We operate a hybrid working model giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work. Our expectation is that you will spend a minimum 60% of your time at your base location. Visits to other DVSA sites or work locations count towards this.
There may be an element of travel associated with this role to other DVSA offices, with some infrequent overnight stays.
