We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team at a wonderful school in Norfolk. The successful candidate will work closely with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to access learning and reach their full potential in a nurturing environment. This role begins March 2025.
Duties as the Teaching Assistant:
* Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with SEND.
* Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt lessons and learning materials.
* Support students with their emotional, social, and academic development.
* Encourage independence and confidence in learning activities.
* Help manage behaviour and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
* Support with personal care needs (if required).
* Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals as needed.
The Ideal Teaching Assistant:
* Experience working with children with SEND in a school or similar setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
* Ability to work as part of a team and use initiative as a Teaching Assistant.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
