This role is based in the UK and will be working on site in our UK based College.
In order to comply with our mandatory pre-employment checks, the successful candidate will be required to provide original identification documents in person to our UK based People Services department.

Any offers of appointment will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (formerly CRB), a certificate of good conduct if applicable, plus receipt of satisfactory references, Occupational Health clearance, an understanding of safeguarding and qualifications verification. An Enhanced DBS check is required for this position as you will be working within 'Regulated Activity' within a specific
place (i.e. the College).
This role is classed as working within Regulated Activity. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. By applying for this position, you agree to an Enhanced DBS check in line with DBS regulations.
BACKGROUND TO THE POST
During recent years the College has continued to grow and diversify in order to meet the demands placed upon it by government initiatives, community developments and financial considerations.
In order to keep pace with changes and to address the needs of students in the 21st Century, the College has embarked upon a number of initiatives and from 2007; the College operates at six main centres throughout Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
The post of College driver/Vehicle Inspector is an important one as it helps in ensuring students are transported safely into and out of College on a daily basis, allows ad hoc runs to take place throughout the day between centres and ensures that our vehicle fleet is checked and maintained to current regulations.
MAIN TASKS
• Transportation of students to and from College on prescribed routes and Ad Hoc requests as agreed with the Transport Manager/Transport Officer.
• To make daily checks of the College minibus, to ensure that it is in a safe condition for driving and report back to the Transport Officer any defects identified. The checks will be carried out by using an agreed checklist provided by the College.
• To make fortnightly checks on College pool vehicles, to ensure they are in a safe condition for driving and report back to the Transport officer any defects identified. The checks will be carried out by using an agreed checklist provided by the College
• To ensure that any ad hoc trips that are booked are authorised and the departments have provided the correct cost code to fund the trip. To ensure all fuel sheets are completed and handed into Reception.
• To assist with deliveries and collections as requested.
• A record of hours worked is to be maintained, method to be in agreement with the Transport Manager.
In order to support during busy exam periods, you may be asked to undertake exam invigilator duties. The College will provide training.

Essential Attainments
✓Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance is essential.
✓Clean UK driving licence, free of major endorsements
✓In order to comply with DVLA regulations regarding driving a minibus it is essential that applicants fulfil the following criteria:
- Have an entitlement to drive cars prior to 1 January 1997 (shown as group A (B for automatics) on an old style licence or as category B and D1 nor for hire or reward on a new style licence)
- Be over 21 years of age.

✓To be aware of Health and Safety procedures and ensure they are observed at all times when carrying out duties.
